A genuine-looking message is not enough. Before you pay, travel, resign from a job or share sensitive documents, make sure the opportunity can be explained in writing and checked against official information.

The 10 checks

Use this list before you make a financial or personal commitment.

  • Confirm the employer’s exact legal name, registered address, worksite and official contact details.
  • Ask for the exact job title, normal duties, location, salary basis, hours, contract type and start conditions.
  • Identify the employer-side work-authorisation document. A job offer, work permit, visa and residence card are different documents.
  • Check that the employer, role, location, pay and hours match across the contract and official documents.
  • Ask who decides each stage: employer, embassy or consulate, immigration authority, or service coordinator.
  • Receive a clear written description of the service, what is included, what is excluded and who handles each step.
  • Read the payment stages and applicable cancellation or refund conditions before paying. Keep every receipt.
  • Verify emails, websites and phone numbers independently. Be cautious when an email domain does not match the organisation.
  • Do not send banking details, full passport scans or other sensitive files through an unverified form or account.
  • Pause when someone promises a guaranteed visa, job, permit, salary or processing date. Authorities decide individual applications.

Documents should tell one consistent story

A safe file is internally consistent. Your name, passport number, employer, role and conditions should not change from one document to another without a clear written explanation.

Do not sign a blank form or a document you do not understand. Ask for a translation or explanation, and keep your own copy of everything you sign.

Protect your money and personal information

A professional process explains why each payment or document is needed. Pay only through the agreed channel, use a reference that identifies the service, and retain the invoice and receipt.

Start with non-sensitive information such as your goal, age, experience and passport-expiry date. Share full identity and financial documents only after the route, recipient and secure next step are clear.

How Migrate EU supports a clearer decision

Migrate EU helps you organise the right questions, understand which documents should match, and identify information that still requires confirmation. We do not replace an employer, embassy, consulate or immigration authority, and we cannot guarantee their decision.

A useful first conversation should leave you better informed—not pressured.
